A Change of Scenery

A glimpse at the entropy of both New League Traders and the design process!

Honestly, I have over 10 different game concepts I’ve worked on. Monks of Ilbtal has been really fun, and I think it will work as a game, but it doesn’t really belong to the World of Ird, and after struggling to make that work, I realized that it didn’t need to. It can be reworked into a standalone game that I can publish separately.

A game that does very much belong in the universe of World of Ird, however, is New League Traders. I am excited to switch things up for a few weeks by revealing more about this game, its mechanics and setting. It has honestly been the smoothest and easiest design process I have had to date; everything just kind of came together into a game that feels rich and complex without being overwhelming, and doesn’t take too long to play (sitting at about 2 hours as of now).

This image is from the first playthrough, and it hasn’t changed too much other than some quality of life things and tweaks to the building and tech trees. I hope you’ll tune in for the next several posts where we will dive into the setting of the game and how it is played!
